Ken Reed
Ken is the Managing Partner of Naarden + Hawthorne and its subsidiary, Naarden Global Strategies.
His work involves consulting with clients on communications strategy, organizational positioning, message development, and reputation management. Previously, Ken served as a senior vice president for one of the largest global banks whose interconnected, institutional businesses include markets, banking, wealth, and treasury and securities services. From the bank’s global headquarters in New York, Ken developed and directed strategic communications programs for these institutional franchises and for the bank’s senior leadership team.
Ken was also managing director and global head of communications for a New York-based trade and lobbying organization that advocates for legislative and regulatory relief and sets standards for the U.S. and European commercial real estate finance markets. Member companies include balance-sheet and securitized lenders, loan and bond investors, private equity firms, and rating agencies.
In earlier positions, he served as director of corporate communications for a rating agency in New York and led corporate affairs for the company’s securities and banking, insurance, sovereign, covered bonds, and Latin America market sectors. He has also served in progressively responsible communications positions in New York and Washington, D.C., primarily for government-sponsored enterprises and professional services firms.
A former journalist, Ken began his career as a financial reporter and covered the U.S. regulatory agencies and national banks from Washington, D.C., his hometown.
